Isira was born and raised on the Aboriginal land of Kaurna in Southern Australia. She exhibited signs of awakened consciousness from a young age, demonstrating heightened psychic and healing abilities and spontaneously practising yoga and meditation.
Despite these early signs of advanced spiritual qualities, her childhood was marked by abuse and rejection, leading her to leave home as a young teenager. Living on the streets, Isira faced harrowing experiences, including being raped, beaten, and almost murdered.
In a profound moment of compassion, she emanated love towards her abuser, causing an awakening in him and saving her life.
At 18, Isira committed her life to the awakening of humanity.
Over the next decade, Isira embarked on periods of prolonged meditation and seclusion, seeking enlightened empowerment. Her journey included studying with and being recognised by masters from various spiritual traditions.
Isira was initiated in Buddhism and ordained by His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
She embraced the teachings of Tibetan and Indian yoga and the ancient earth rites of Aboriginal Australian, Native American, and African eldership.
Between 27 and 30, Isira experienced profound illuminations and transcendental states of awakened awareness. During this period, she began formally teaching and offering regular programs to seekers.
Isira’s extensive spiritual practice led her to understand that her life’s mission was to serve all beings with the Truth and Love she had discovered through her direct experiences.
Isira is an Indigenous woman of Aboriginal, Welsh, Celtic, Germanic, and Spanish heritage.
She is recognised as a Wisdom Keeper and Ngankari, a woman of spiritual power. Her bloodline is rooted in Mirning Adnyamathanha heritage and has kin ties to Yankuntatjara Pitjantjatjara in central Australia.
Isira works with Elders, Indigenous communities, and public forums to bridge understanding between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people, bringing forward ancient Indigenous and spiritual wisdom for universal understanding.
Her commitment is to restore the value of Indigenous wisdom and its relevance to contemporary challenges.
“Given the sensitivity around Indigenous identity and the ambiguity so often associated with it, I naturally understand that many people find this aspect about me doubtful or questionable.
For most of my family’s life, the history remained only a suspicion. It wasn’t until my grandmother was close to death that she chose to reveal our secret heritage to my uncle. My cousin then decided to do some family research, and we are now fortunate to have the historical evidence that confirms our Aboriginal heritage.
I choose to make reference to this for spiritual and humanitarian reasons. I have always felt a profound spiritual connection to my Aboriginality and my Ancestors.
This is not about saying, ‘Look at me, I am Aboriginal.’ It is about acknowledging and expressing my deepest gratitude and respect for my ancestry.
Our ability to restore Indigenous wisdom is critical to our times.
I make these statements fully acknowledging my family’s diverse heritage: Welsh, Spanish, Celtic, Germanic, and Aboriginal.
Acknowledging our heritage and the unique beauty of our historical threads is of great value to us all.
Our heritage enriches us as humans and reminds us that we are so much more than just this small part of life here and now.”
Throughout her early life, Isira connected with Tibetan masters in her dreams and visions.
Recognising Isira as an important incarnation, Tibetan Lamas travelled to Adelaide, South Australia, to bring her to the Himalayas to be ordained by His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
This period was an intense yogic retreat and initiation, preparing her for future work.
After three years, the Lamas directed her to return to the West to teach conscious development, not from a particular lineage or religion, but from the essence underlying all religions – the consciousness of Love.
Numerous high priests and healers in Bali recognise Isira as a highly evolved being, calling her ‘Maha Dewi Isira,’ reflecting their belief that she is an enlightened incarnation.
Isira supports Balinese tradition and spiritual culture, offering a powerful presence of love, compassion, and wisdom.
Isira is the author of several works, including “Awakening YOU” and her autobiography “Buddha on the Dance Floor.”
Isira has created the Holistic Awakening Collection of spiritual educational resources, including books, meditations, courses, and workshops. She shares her profound insights and teachings with a global audience.
