It’s easy to feel like we are victims of our circumstances – harsh words spoken to us, tricked by a business associate, sexual and emotional abuse, intimidation, assets lost in the global financial crisis, property stolen, beaten up by a street gang, let down by our lover…

Most of us have experienced a sense of being a victim, and most of us have also at some time been called a perpetrator when we have lost our temper or done other things that hurt others.

Even seemingly minor events of physical, mental or emotional violence can stay in our awareness and affect us for a long, long time.

It doesn’t have to be that way, if we understand the deeper truth of who we are.

When Isira was just 16 she was brutally bashed, raped and very nearly murdered at the hands of a crazed attacker.

The ultimate circumstance of victim and perpetrator.

Or so it may seem.

At one level, that is so. But there is something much greater within each of us that can take us beyond being a victim, beyond being a perpetrator.

In this extraordinary, true story, Isira challenges the dichotomy of victim and perpetrator, good and evil, right and wrong, and demonstrates from her own potentially deadly experience on the receiving end of a vicious physical attack that a higher state of awareness is always available to both the victim and the perpetrator.

When we open ourselves to that awareness and see the Higher Self within each other, violence can no longer exist, and the Self that we are cannot violate or be violated.
